Rituals for Shadow Work

1. Create your own Space

Create a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. Use candles, incense and some calming music to soften the atmosphere.

You can also use crystals, and decorate the space with plants.


2. Centre Yourself

Now you need relax your shoulders, Unclench your jaw, and release the stress from your body and get grounded. Get into the zone of connecting to yourself from within. Reach your soul. Listen to it.


3. Analyse your Triggers

Was there anything in the past few weeks that made you angry, frustrated or triggered your anxiety? Try to name your feelings and identify them as what they are. What were the situations that made you feel that way. How can you limit these situations and how can you overcome them?


4. Shadow Journaling

Begin to explore the emotions associated with your triggers. Remember triggers are the doorway to the places in your heart and body that you need to heal. Write about everything and anything that you are feeling and thinking. Especially the darkest of thoughts, your uncertainty and deep negative feelings that unsettle you.


5. Self- Acceptance

Is there a part of you that you had to suppress in order to survive? Why don't you allow it to be a part fo you again? With shadow work we are learning about ourselves all over again and embracing the parts of us that were long forgotten. Accept your emotions and feelings. Because you heal when you feel.


6. Cleansing Water therapy

The act of consciously letting water carry away negative energyenergy can be a powerful ritual to release emotional tension and promote mental clarity to move forward.

After all your journaling and doing the deep work on yourself you need to release all the emotional residue. Have a cleansing shower or a calming bath. Put on some soothing music and just let water wash away all that no longer serves you and promote healing.
