Starting a Self-care routine is not about what everyone else is doing, or following somebody else's routine. It's about what you need to do for yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. And making sure you are prioritizing your routine and rituals for your sake.
Step 1: What you require as a human being?
Think about it. You are a woman but you are a human being too. Starting your self-care routine means to respect yourself as a human. We as humans have flaws and limitations and we shouldn't forget that. Being human is about taking care of our body and making sure it functions properly.
Rest & Relaxation
Did you know that 'Rest' comes from 'Restoration'. To rest is to restore our body's energy, mental capacity and essential fluids that run our body. To deny rest is to accelerate decay and ageing. I can't stress enough how important rest and relaxation is for our body and mind.
So are you giving your body enough rest and allowing yourself to relax? Because Rest & Relaxation is how you Recharge your body. Make sure you carve out some time in your day to relax and have a good night's rest.
Food Intake To function properly we require proper nutrition and hydration. Without proper food and water our body can stop functioning. So why should we deny our body the energy it requires to survive and live. Make sure you prioritize your diet. Eat healthy and intuitively as per your body requires.
Create a proper meal plan and make sure to include veggies, fruits and calorie dense food. You can also consult a nutritionist. Remember, never skip a meal. Skipping a meal means disrespecting our body and disregarding our needs.
Body Movement
Just like we consume food to give energy to our body, we need movement in our body to keep it running and functional. Exercising makes sure our body is supple, it has no physical issues like backache, knee problems or heart issues, etc. Including proper exercise routine to keep your heart healthy and body fit is necessary for survival.
So figure out what your body needs? Are you fit? Start exercising to have a healthy heart and fit body so that your body can support you in any kind of activity and adventure.
Step 2: Figure out What you require as a Woman?
As a woman, you have the abundance of feminine energy within you. There is a misconception that feminine energy is about giving. Feminine energy is all about receiving, cultivating and multiplying. When women receive love, we cultivate it, multiply it and give it back much more than what we received. And that is how feminine energy thrives.
So do we need external source of love? Absolutely Not! We create and nurture life in our womb and manage our lives very well without any support and understanding from others. We know what we are capable of. The truth is we misunderstand what love is. What we look for externally is appreciation, understanding and emotional support. And these things can be cultivated internally in our own hearts, by ourselves , for ourselves.
And what about True love? Or the love we desire? Here is a little secret.. You can only understand and appreciate true love when you really love yourself. Loving yourself, respecting yourself is the key to finding that everlasting love you keep looking for. Because when you truly love yourself, you know what your values are, your boundaries are set, you know your worth and you value yourself. This makes it easy for you to find the one you're looking for.
But before that figure out what you require as a woman. Cultivating Self- love is the key to have a happy and fulfilled life. Self-love is about providing the love & care you think you deserve from others. But you are an abundant source of love yourself so why wait for others? You know how brave and courageous you are. Only you understand your struggles. So you should be the One caring and supporting yourself.
Cultivate Self-Love
By cultivating Self-love we validate and value our self. By treating ourselves better, we teach others how to treat us. Just like " be the change you wish to see in the world", we must love ourselves and value ourselves if we want others to value us and treat us with respect. Remember YOU are the main character in your life. You don't have to keep others on pedestal. YOU are the one who is on pedestal here. So treat yourself that way.

Step 3: Do what you LOVE
Self-Care is not just about taking care of yourself emotionally or physically and spiritually, but socially as well.
Making sure
- you are not compromising on your boundaries,
-doing what you love & enjoy in your daily life,
-and protecting your peace at all costs.
Following your heart and passion is not just about having the time, it's about setting an intention and making the time to make your soul happy.. It's about prioritizing yourself, your goals and dreams, your passions and living this beautiful life and not just surviving it.

-Are you doing what you love to do and not caring what others think?
-What did you love to do as a child?
-Are you doing something just for yourself?
-What are the things that uplift you?
-What are the things that brings you joy ?
- Are you making sure your creative side is being expressed?
- Are you living life to your fullest?
I understand that not everyone gets to follow their hearts, and live a life of passion. But what I'm saying is that even if you don't have your dream job, and you are still struggling to achieve your dreams, you can still do some things that tend to your soul. You can still do things that light you up.. And you must.. because denying our soul purpose is another thing, but denying our soul's happiness is quite a sin if you ask me. And Self-care is all about making our soul happy and content.
Here are some quick ways you can be in touch with your creativity:
• If you love to dance and can't find time then join a Zumba class or any other activities. Or better yet just put on some music and dance your heart out. It's also a great cardio.
•If you love to paint or create some artwork but you work a corporate job or in IT and painting seems like being on a totally different planet, then make sure to carve out some time and space for yourself to express and explore your creativity.
•If you love to travel, explore new places and cuisines, but cant find time because of your busy schedule, then learn about new places, their culture, cuisines and do a bit of research so that next time you get to vacay, you have a list of things to do and places to see. And you won't need a guide!
• If you love to cook or bake some exotic recipes but can't find enough time to prep or feel like you will gain weight, then set an intention to do a recipe/week, and enjoy the process. Choose a recipe, buy all the ingredients and take your time to make it and eat it and ENJOY it!
