Emotional Independence is the ability to handle your emotions on your own without needing any external approval, validation or attention. It means that you are Self-aware of your mental patterns, emotional well-being and are better equipped to face any difficult situation.
Emotional Independence is having inner resilience to find happiness within no matter what your outside looks like. When you are Emotionally Independent you are not bound by unfortunate circumstances, or anyone else's moods or behavior. You are aware of the difference between Emotional Validity and Emotional Support.
Emotional Dependency is exactly the opposite. When you are emotionally dependent you are constantly seeking approval, validation and support from your loved ones, friends or other people. You are totally dependent on other people for your emotional well-being.
